Noxious Weeds

All landowners are required by Covenant as well as State law to control noxious weeds on their land.  Here are the citations.

ARTICLE IV
PROTECTIVE COVENANTS AND DEVELOPMENT GUIDELINES

SECTION 5. Seeding, Planting and Weed Control: Noxious weeds shall be destroyed on a regular basis to prevent them from reaching seed stage.

Montana Code Annotated Section 7-22-2166: It is unlawful to permit noxious weeds to propagate or go to seed on the person’s land, except that any person who adheres to the noxious weed management program of the person’s weed district or who has entered into and is in compliance with a noxious weed management agreement is considered in compliance with this section.

The following noxious weeds are known to occur in Glacier Hills.  There may be others.

  • Spotted Knapweed                               • St. Johnswort  
  • Canada Thistle                                      • Leafy Spurge
  • Orange & Meadow Hawkweed          • Common Tansy
  • Oxeye daisy                                           • Dalmation Toadflax
  • Common Mullein                                 • Houndstongue
  • Yellow toadflax
